The Valley of the Horses: How beautiful is autumn!

As mentioned before, “Vall de Cavall” means “Valley of the Horses” in Spanish. Here at Vall de Cavall, we work a lot with horses – they are an important part of our lives, and we love to see them enjoying their life in this beautiful corner of Spain.

Of course, we also have a restaurant here, and much of our diners’ enjoyment is drinking in the beauty of the surrounding nature,  and watching the horses as they eat. Now that fall has arrived, the weather is nicer for everyone, whether they have two legs or four, and the clearer skies of autumn days, without the heat haze of summer, make for spectacular views.

So we suggest that if you come to dine with us, bring your camera and capture the breathtaking views from the restaurant terrace and around the pool. And, of course, now that it’s cooler, the horses are more comfortable and more willing to come out and pose for your camera, if you ask nicely.

Vall de Cavall was built by one family, the De Roij Bastijns, primarily as a family home and a place where Peter Bastijns could work with his beloved horses and spend time with his family. These values are very evident today. When you visit Vall de Cavall, we will make you feel special and welcome, and we will greet you like old friends. It is much more than a business: we want you to enjoy your time with us and come back to see us, as friends do.

Why not get together with your friends or family and come and enjoy a relaxed meal while taking in the breathtaking scenery of the Montgó mountain and surrounding valley? Take your time to explore and observe the horses on a daily basis, and take some stunning photos to remember your stay in the Valley of the Horses.

Vall de Cavall

We are open from 12:30 to 16:00 for lunch from Tuesday to Saturday, so you will have plenty of time to eat and enjoy nature. You can even bring a sketchbook, to capture your own personal vision of the Vall de Cavall. The nights are equally magical, with the lack of light pollution and the play of shadows and lights in the pool, although it is not so good for photography at that hour.

We are fortunate to live in such a beautiful corner of the world, where man and nature coexist in complete harmony. Take advantage of your surroundings with a daytime visit to the Vall de Cavall in autumn. We would love to tell you more about the beautiful place where we have made our home, and then our chef Hatim and his team will prepare a feast with local ingredients, sourced from the fertile soil of the Marina Alta.

A visit to Vall de Cavall is a pleasure for all the senses, and we comply with Covid regulations, so you can dine with us with total confidence and security. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
