Restaurante Vall de Cavall and its sister establishment, Restaurante Masena in Javea, have both been recognized as Trip Advisor Travellers Choice Restaurants in 2020. That’s an achievement for one restaurant, let alone two from the same group, but if you love good food, served in a fantastic setting by the most attentive staff you will find anywhere, you really should visit one – or better still both – of these fabulous restaurants.
While Masena is in the lovely seaside town of Javea, Vall de Cavall is set in the beautiful countryside, overlooked by Montgo Mountain. The name means ‘Valley of the Horses’ in Spanish, and this is a working stables as well as a restaurant. It’s the perfect setting for a family get together or celebration, or just for a quiet lunch or dinner somewhere intimate and close to Nature.
This particular Trip Advisor award is only given to the top 10 per cent of businesses in each category, so it’s a true mark of excellence, decided by the customers who actually use the establishments. ‘Well worth waiting for!’
Jeroen’s friends had recommended Vall de Cavall to him, but they were full, so he couldn’t get a table for lunch. Not to be deterred, he booked, and was bowled over by the food and the whole experience. His party enjoyed themselves so much, they were there for over three hours. That’s the only way to do lunch in Spain!

We love Baudouin’s eloquent description of lunching at Vall de Cavall while special measures are still in place to curtail the spread of the Covid-19 virus. And he loved the food, because everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. It’s not just food that makes the dining experience, the surroundings and service have to be spot on too, and they were.

A perfect, child-friendly place

As we mentioned earlier, it’s an excellent place for a family celebration, because family is at the heart of the whole Vall de Cavall Experience. Andrew and his family love to be able to enjoy great food outdoors, in such beautiful surroundings.
