Here, in Vall de Cavall’s countryside, the colors are changing, and the same happens in the kitchen of our restaurant. In our kitchen we are always pushing the boundaries to offer you local cuisine with an exotic touch, and we love to reflect the environment around us in our food. What better way to keep warm than to put on a cozy cover? And we do it with food too, with hearty sauces to warm you up inside, and filling wraps for traditionally light foods like octopus, because that’s what you need when the weather gets cold.
Of course, we all start thinking about special holiday meals, and let’s prepare some surprises to tempt your taste buds. At Vall de Cavall, we believe that every day is a celebration of good food, and we have some suggestions from our regular menu for you, if you want to get into the Christmas spirit early. Start with a lobster salad with tropical fruits, or a sautéed foie gras with mushrooms and Pedro Ximinez sauce, if you want a hot starter. In Spain, there is no celebration without Pedro Ximénez being present at some point.
We also have some impressive main course options. We have our Segovian style suckling pig with sweet potato, grilled tomahawk steak for two or venison loin with red fruit sauce, as well as a good selection of fish dishes.
In case you’re wondering, a tomahawk steak is a thick rib with the bone intact. It is at least 5 cm thick and, as the muscle of this steak is one of the least utilized by the cow, it results in a soft, tender steak with a nice marbling of fat that tastes as fabulous as it looks. It is grilled to perfection, and there is enough for two people.
A good meal needs a good dessert to round it off, and we have plenty of them! Every day, there’s a surprise dessert from Vall de Cavall, and for a taste of luxury, try our dark chocolate overdose. After all, Christmas is a time for pampering, isn’t it? So take your time for a leisurely lunch in our cozy restaurant, with the Montgó mountain as a backdrop. Special moments deserve special surroundings, and there is nothing more special than our beautiful Valle de los Caballos.
Due to the current situation of Covid-19, the number of participants is limited, so reservations are recommended to avoid disappointment. At the moment, we can only sit at tables of 6 people, but the atmosphere in our restaurant is so cheerful and friendly that it feels like a big family party. Come with your family and friends and enjoy the unique gastronomic experience of Vall de Cavall.
