As we’ve mentioned before ‘Vall de Cavall’ means ‘Valley of the Horses’ in Spanish. Here at Vall de Cavall, we work with horses a lot – they are a major part of our lives, and we love to see them enjoying their lives in this beautiful corner of Spain.
Of course, we also have a restaurant here, and a large part of the enjoyment for our diners is to drink in the beauty of Nature all around them, and watch the horses as they eat. Now that autumn is here, the weather is more comfortable for everyone, whether they have two legs or four, and the clearer skies of autumn days, without the heat hazes of summer, make for spectacular views.
So we’d suggest that if you are coming to dine with us, bring your camera with you, and capture the stunning views from the restaurant terrace, and around the pool. And of course, now it’s cooler, the horses are more comfortable, and more willing to be out and about, and even pose for your camera, if you ask them nicely!
Vall de Cavall was built by a family – the De Roij Bastijns – primarily as a family home and a place where Peter Bastijns could work with his beloved horses and spend time with his family. Those values are very apparent today. When you visit Vall de Cavall, we will make you feel special and welcome, and greet you like old friends. It’s so much more than a business – we want you to enjoy your time with us, and come back to see us again, as friends do.
Why not get together with friends or family, and come and enjoy a relaxing meal while taking in the stunning scenery of the Montgo Mountain and the surrounding valley? Take time to explore, and watch the horses going about their day to day routine, and take some stunning photos to bring back happy memories of your time in the Valley of the Horses.
We open from 12.30 to 4.00 pm for lunch, Tuesday to Saturday, so you have lots of time to eat and enjoy Nature. You may even like to bring a sketch book, to capture your own personal view of Vall de Cavall. Evenings are equally magical, with the lack of light pollution, and the shadows and highlights playing on the pool, although it’s not so good for photography at that time.
We are fortunate to live in such a beautiful corner of the world, where Man and Nature coexist in complete harmony. Make the most of your surroundings with a daytime visit to Vall de Cavall in the autumn. We’d love to tell you more about the beautiful place where we’ve made our home, and then our chef Hatim and his team will prepare a feast from local ingredients, sourced from the fertile soil of the Marina Alta.
A visit to Vall de Cavall is a treat for all the senses, and we are fully Covid compliant, so you can dine with us in confidence and complete safety. We look forward to welcoming you very soon.
